Dr Stern is a double board certified Diplomate to the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and General Psychiatry. She is committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive, evidence-based, and collaborative care to children, adolescents, and adults. Her training and professional experience emphasize the improved functioning and decreased suffering that psychotherapy can provide to individuals by increasing self-awareness, improving emotional regulation, increasing understanding of interactions with others and the world, and moving towards engaging in life in a way that feels more meaningful. She is also a skilled psychopharmacologist and can prescribe medications as an additional intervention if needed. She is dedicated to supporting the psychiatric needs of adolescents and adults in Colorado individualized care plans as well as consultations with other providers.
She provides care in Denver, CO and Winter Park, CO. Additionally, telehealth psychiatry appointments via video are available to anyone located in Colorado. Dr. Stern frequently sees patients from Fort Collins, Steamboat Springs, Vail, Eagle, Aspen, Glenwood Springs, and other communities.
She has expertise in treating eating disorders, depression, social anxiety, panic, generalized anxiety, OCD, and chronic work or relationship issues.
She graduated with honors with a B.S. in biology from The Ohio State University in 2003 and gradated with honors from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 2007. She was Chief Resident of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Colorado from 2011-2012. She later provided outpatient individual and family psychotherapy with/without medication management as well as in-home and residential services for children and adolescents with autism, mood, anxiety, and disruptive behavior disorders in Montana.
Prior to private practice, she worked for several years at Eating Recovery Center in Denver treating young children, adolescents, and adults with eating, anxiety, and mood disorders
